DESCRIPTION: Position: Lathe & Mill CNC Machinist Pay Rate/Range: $16.00 - $20.00 Description: Performing setups on CNC lathes or mills involves selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine attachments. The process includes downloading the program, making necessary offsets, setting tooling per program, and verifying material matches the program. Ensuring all settings are correct and verifying the program before operating the machine is crucial for successful production runs. Job Requirements: The job involves regularly carrying and moving materials weighing between 5 and 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds and very rarely up to 75. There is exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise, as well as oil or coolant mist. The overhead doors are frequently open, allowing outdoor pollens and allergens to enter the workspace. Must have good vision. Precise dexterity is needed with both hands to make fine adjustments. Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions, plus hear emergency instructions. The job requires a complete understanding of programs, with the ability to make adjustments and edits as needed. The candidate should possess adequate knowledge to modify programs for material substitutions and new parts that are similar to existing parameters. Basic shop math skills are necessary for determining part sizes and locations. Must have toolbox with basic tools, which includes wrenches, 6" scale, 0-12" calipers, and 0-6" micrometers, screwdrivers, hammers, crescent wrench, pliers, etc., and be willing to add other tools that are not on this list to accomplish assigned jobs.
