DESCRIPTION: A Press Brake Operator is responsible for performing metal-forming operations using computer-operated press brakes to bend, shape, and cut metal sheets or plates. The role requires an individual who has experience in operating press brakes that use hydraulic or mechanical presses and other equipment, such as lasers, and gauges to ensure quality and accuracy. The candidate should possess critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents. Job Requirements: o Set up and operate computer-operated equipment to bend sheet metal into desired shapes. o Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the appropriate shapes and specifications that need to be fabricated. o Select correct dies and gauges for the job. o Position materials, clamps, gauges, and other fixtures on the machine bed to ensure bending accuracy and repeatability. o Verify the quality of the formed parts using precision measuring instruments. o Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure quality and accuracy. o Monitor the machine for signs of malfunction, such as excessive scraping or vibration, and notify maintenance personnel if issues arise. o Achieve the desired finished product while performing within established production times. o Keep work area and equipment clean and well-maintained. o Collaborate with engineering, production, and management staff to improve quality and productivity. o Train and guide new employees when needed. o Continuously learn and develop new techniques and technologies.
