Position Overview Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Essential Job Functions - Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. - Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. - Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. - Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. - Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources. - Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. - Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. - Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. - Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. - Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Educational and Experience Requirements - Must have more than 5 years of assembly experience in the oil and gas industry. - Previous experience of technical knowledge and training to maintain instrument and electrical equipment. - High School Diploma or GED. - Ability and willingness to perform/comply with the following: - Willing and able to climb various ladders and stairs to perform maintenance on equipment. The ladders and stairs range up to 50 feet in height. - Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds. - Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain. - Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions. - Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time. - Wear personal protective equipment (PPE). - Willingness to be on call. - Willing and able to work unscheduled overtime. Preferred Qualifications - Strong team player with the ability to work safely and manage a very diverse workload. - Proficient (ability to perform skill with little assistance) with Word, Excel & Power Point. - Ability to self-start and work alone, as well as work within a team setting. - Ability to adjust quickly to unexpected conditions. - Demonstrates innovative thought process and problem-solving skills. Prior Knowledge/Experience - Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. - Building and Construction -- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of fabricated products.
