Position Overview Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Essential Job Functions - Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. - Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. - Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. - Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. - Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources. - Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. - Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. - Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. - Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. - Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) - Handling and Moving Objects -- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. - Controlling Machines and Processes -- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles). - Getting Information -- Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. - Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events -- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events. - Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material -- Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. - Performing General Physical Activities -- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Educational and Experience Requirements - Must have more than 5 years of assembly experience in the oil and gas industry. - Previous experience of technical knowledge and training to maintain instrument and electrical equipment. - High School Diploma or GED. - Ability and willingness to perform/comply with the following: - Willing and able to climb various ladders and stairs to perform maintenance on equipment. The ladders and stairs range up to 50 feet in height. - Willing and able to raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds. - Willing and able to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain. - Willing and able to work outside in harsh weather conditions. - Willing to work alone a high percentage of the time. - Wear personal protective equipment (PPE). - Willingness to be on call. - Willing and able to work unscheduled overtime. Preferred Qualifications - Strong team player with the ability to work safely and manage a very diverse workload. - Proficient (ability to perform skill with little assistance) with Word, Excel & Power Point. - Ability to self-start and work alone, as well as work within a team setting. - Ability to adjust quickly to unexpected conditions. - Demonstrates innovative thought process and problem-solving skills. Prior Knowledge/Experience - Mechanical -- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. - Building and Construction -- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of fabricated products.
